Last night, I experienced an enchanting meeting with an owl, right after dropping my friend of, late at night.
The owl was just there in the middle of the road, ignoring my presence in the car. I stopped by its side and gazed for a long minute until it flew away. I’ve been seeing owls quite often lately.
This morning, I woke up, lifted the blinds and gazed at the trees.
Focusing my gaze at one tree trunk that looked different.
As I was trying to understand what was different, an owl flew by and landed on the branch of this tree.
I suddenly remembered one of my teachers at graduate school saying “discard the idea of non importance” (It sounds much better in Hebrew).
Which actually means that every thought or a feeling should be examined. Everything is important for a creative process and everything
is important in the therapeutic relationship.
In Shamanism an owl is the link between the dark, unseen world and the world of light. It gives us the gift of seeing what is truly beneath the surface so we won’t be deceived by appearance.
So I see these encounters as a sign from beyond to check my blind spots and continue to illuminate them with awareness.
And you? Do you need to face your shadows? What is there for you to see and discover?
