It does not seem that summer is just around the corner.
It has been raining a lot, with gray skies and a blanket of clouds.
When we wish things to be different then what they are, we give rise to pain and suffering.
But when we accept and open to the present moment experience, without expecting anything to change, then we bring forth a wellspring of joy, of contentment.
In the Judeo-Christian scripture, the book of Genesis, it is implied that the world was created with a word.
“…And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. We who were created in God’s image have the will to create the world we live in.
The words we utter as well as our thoughts, will result in either a gloomy world filled with misery or a happy one with abundance of joy.
I recently watched the movie CODA. In it a beautiful version to Joni Michell’s song ‘Both Sides Now’
“Rows and flows of angel hair/ And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere/Looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun/ They rain and they snow on everyone
So many things I would have done/But clouds got in my way
I’ve looked at clouds from both sides now/ From up and down and still somehow/
It’s cloud illusions I recall/ I really don’t know clouds at all
Yes we can choose, clouds as obstacles, clouds that get in our way or clouds as opportunities. Opportunities to imagine and dream and fantasize
and create our own beautiful beautiful world right here right now. A world that is full of light even on a cloudy day.
