Dear friends

There is a simple slogan often shared in recovery spaces: “Take what you like and leave the rest”.
This sounds almost too easy but there is something deeply wise in it.
So often in life, we meet situations, people or experiences with a mind that scans for what is wrong, uncomfortable or lacking. We can become so focused on what does not sit well that we miss what is actually nourishing, meaningful or true. This teaching invites a different way of moving through the world. What if, in each encounter, we gently asked: what can I receive? What feels supportive, true or helpful? And what can I simply let go of without resistance, without judgment. Not everything is meant for us. And that is okay.
In yoga, we practice something similar. We learn to see things as they are, without immediately grasping or rejecting them. We notice sensations, thoughts and experiences and we develop the capacity to stay present without being overwhelmed by what does not serve us.
“Take what you like and leave the rest” becomes a kind of inner practice, a soft discernment, a willingness to receive the good, and a quiet strength to release the unnecessary.
This week, you might try bringing this into your daily life: in conversations, in your practice, even in your own thoughts.
Gently gather what nourishes you and allow the rest to pass through.
With Love and Gratitude
Nurit
